R.Kelly left stage for McDonald's

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- R&B singer R. Kelly walked off the stage during his St. Louis concert and went to a local McDonald's where he served up burgers.

Kelly's attorney confirmed reports Monday that Kelly left St. Louis' Savvis Center Saturday night and went to a closed McDonald's that reopened for the entertainer and his entourage, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Tuesday.

"Then, he decided he wanted to work the drive-through. It was on the radio. People were running out of their houses to have R. Kelly serve them," Ed Genson said.

Kelly's affinity for McDonald's goes back to times he spent with his late mother.

"We'd go to McDonald's almost every morning. She'd drink her cup of coffee, she'd wear this cheap lipstick, and she'd leave this red lipstick ring around the cup," Kelly said in a "Primetime Live" interview that aired earlier this month.

Kelly walked off stage during Saturday's show with Jay-Z, minutes after he argued with sound technicians. Sunday's show in Milwaukee and Tuesday's show in Hartford, Conn., were canceled.
