Queen named to Songwriters Hall of Fame

BURBANK, Calif., June 10 (UPI) -- Members of the legendary rock group "Queen" will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame during a Thursday ceremony.

The 34th annual induction and awards ceremony will take place at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City, where Queen will be honored alongside Phil Collins, Van Morrison and Little Richard.

Queen joins a long list of previously inducted songwriters that includes Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Sir Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Brian Wilson, James Taylor, James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, Jim Croce, Burt Bacharach and many others.

In other Queen news, the band has announced June 17 as the release date for the DVD version of "Queen Live at Wembley." Available for the first time on DVD, the double-disc, surround-sound set captures the group's historic July 1986 two-night performance at London's Wembley Stadium.
