Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Colorado authorities have released a video to the public showing the last sighting of a woman missing since Thanksgiving, hoping it might help solve the case.
Officials said Kelsey Berreth was seen in public on Nov. 22. The footage released Tuesday shows the 29-year-old flight instructor and her infant daughter at a grocery store in Woodland Park, about 50 miles south of Denver.
The same day, Berreth handed off her daughter to fiancée Patrick Frazee, police said.
Woodland Park Police Chief Miles DeYoung said the woman's employer, Doss Aviation in Pueblo, Colo., received a text message from her phone on Nov. 25. The message said she would not be at work the following week, the Denver Post reported.
Authorities said Berreth's cellphone pinged a tower in Gooding, Idaho, more than 700 miles away that day. Police are able to zero in on a cellphone's location because it communicates with, or "pings," the nearest cellular tower when in use.
"It makes us wonder what she's doing up there, or what the phone is, potentially, because she may not be there," Woodland Park Police Commander Chris Adams told Good Morning America Sunday.
Frazee said he received a text message from Berreth that same day, but nothing since. Mother Cheryl Berreth said she filed a missing person's report on Dec. 2, and said the disappearance was "completely" out of her daughter's character.
Police said Berreth's daughter is staying with her father, who's been cooperating with the investigation.
