April 12 (UPI) -- Wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham is no lock to make the Philadelphia Eagles' 2017 roster.

After the Eagles added former Pro Bowl pick Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith to its cast of pass catchers in March, Green-Beckham will face stiff competition in training camp.

Philly Voice reported Tuesday that Green-Beckham must make significant improvements this offseason in order to be a member of the NFC East franchise.

He sits behind Jeffery, Jordan Matthews, Smith, and possibly even Nelson Agholor on the team's depth chart.

"I think that this will be a good offseason for DGB," Eagles coach Doug Pederson told reporters on April 5 at the NFL Annual Meeting, via CSN Philly. "This will be a great offseason for him. It's going to be an opportunity for him to come in and, number one, show what he's really capable of. Now, we got him sort of at the end of training camp last year. I believe it was Week 3 of training camp so he was learning our system really the whole year. Now, having time to work with him and really develop his talent, to get in there with Mike Groh and learn and with all our players. But at that position with him, it's going to be big with him. And just to see where he's at."

Shortly after the franchise added Jeffery and Smith, Pederson said the Eagles have a "good mix" at the position.

"Alshon is a presence with his size," Pederson told the Eagles' website. "He has some good years ahead of him. He's strong, he's physical to the ball, he catches the ball away from his body, he can high-point the ball and he runs well. He brings an element with that veteran experience at the position.

"You look at Torrey Smith and he's a faster guy, a quicker guy, a guy you can do a few more things with because of his speed and we're going to take advantage of that. It's a good tandem, and then you've got Jordan in there, Nelson is in there and DGB is there. We have a really good mix."

The Eagles' offseason workout schedule begins Monday. OTA workouts are set for May 23 to May 25, May 30 and May 31, June 1, June 5 and June 6, and June 8 and June 9.

Mandatory minicamp begins on June 13. The Eagles begin its preseason slate on a date to be determined between Aug. 10 and Aug. 14 against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. The game will be televised on NBC.

Prior to its final preseason game, teams must cut its roster to a maximum of 75 players. After its final preseason contest, teams must cut the roster down to a maximum of 53 players on their respective active/inactive list.

Green-Beckham turned 24-years-old Wednesday. He is signed for $944,418 this season and is due $1.1 million in 2018, the final year of his four-year contract with the Eagles.

The Missouri and Oklahoma product has six touchdowns and 941 receiving yards on 68 career receptions for the Tennessee Titans and Eagles during his two-year NFL tenure.
