OSLO, Norway, May 7 (UPI) -- A noted Norwegian statue of an angry baby boy, long a fixture in Oslo's Frogner Park, may be replaced by a copy, the Aftenposten reported Friday.
The statue, called Sinnataggen, which roughly translates to "The Hothead," was nearly broken off its pedestal when park staff arrived for work Thursday.
There was nothing to do but saw off the rest of the bronze statue created by sculptor Gustav Vigeland and take it in for repairs.
Park officials are growing weary of vandalism, which struck the statue again this week.
Now there's a possibility it won't be returned to the park, and instead be replaced by a copy to dampen vandals' interest. The statue has been subject to vandalism before and was even stolen back in 1992.
The statue is part of Norway's national heritage, as "The Little Mermaid" in Copenhagen's harbor is for Denmark.
