WASHINGTON, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- A Portland, Ore., man has pleaded guilty to desecrating a Jewish cemetery, the Justice Department said Thursday.
Sean Andrew Sigley, a self-described white supremacist, pleaded guilty to the bias motivated desecration of a Portland Jewish cemetery.
Sigley admitted that on May 24, 2003, he and a co-conspirator desecrated the Congregation Shaarie Torah Cemetery with swastikas and anti-Semitic phrases to frighten and intimidate area Jewish residents.
Sigley, who will be sentenced March 28, faces a maximum possible sentence of 10 years in prison.
Sigley's alleged accomplice was indicted in October 2003 and is awaiting trial.
