CORAL SPRINGS , Fla., Feb. 20 (UPI) -- A South Florida charter school teacher was arrested on battery charges after she allegedly forced a 10-year-old boy to clean a dirty urinal she thought he had clogged -- using his bare hands.

Broward Community Charter School West third-grade teacher Jennifer Forshey is accused of battery on a child by exposing the child to urine, according to the Coral Springs Police Department.

The police report indicates that Forshey allegedly made the student unclog the urinal of pee-soaked paper towels. “Victims hands were saturated in what smelled like urine from the urinal and the paper towel that was in the urinal,” the report reads.

The boy wasn’t given gloves and there was no soap in the bathroom for him to wash with after he was through.

When she was questioned, Forshey was unapologetic about her actions. “She only thinks what she did was wrong because she is in trouble for it. Otherwise, she does not see anything wrong with exposing a child to urine,” according to the report.

Forshey, 58, was booked into jail Wednesday and released on $1,000 bond. “I did not do anything illegal," Forshey told NBC Miami as she left jail.

The station reports that Broward Community Charter School issued a statement saying Forshey has been reprimanded.
