Apparently the theft of road signs is one of them. Advertisement The 420 mile marker along Interstate 70 has been stolen multiple times and the state Department of Transportation finally decided to do something about it. The sign, which now reads Mile 419.99, hopefully won’t be as attractive to stoners who like to steal. "Obviously people steal these signs," said CDOT spokeswoman Amy Ford. "In the past, if a sign was stolen too much, we wouldn't replace it. This is sort of an innovative way for us to keep the sign there." Four-twenty is a term generally associated with cannabis culture and marijuana enthusiasts often celebrate on April 20. The CDOT previously changed a Mile 69 sign near the summit of Cameron Pass to read 68.5 after it was reportedly taken by randy robbers.
