An Arizona woman was arrested and is facing charges of aggravated DUI and having an open container after a police officer approached her car while it was parked on the sidewalk and discovered the woman chatting on the phone with an open beer can in her lap.

After tapping on the window several times, the woman, Karen Francis Williams, rolled down the window but stayed on her phone.

After the officer asked her to hang up, the 52-year-old reportedly told the person on the other end of the line, "I have to go, I'm getting arrested for DUI again."

The officer confiscated the phone and then asked why Williams was parked on the sidewalk. She responded that she was on her way to pick her daughter up from youth group but the girl was running late. Williams, who allegedly had blood-shot eyes, slurred speech and admitted to drinking six beers, said she had pulled over to talk on the phone.

According to Cottonwood police, Williams declined to do a sobriety test because she "did not feel like it."

When she was leaving the vehicle, the officer noticed that Williams had pills in her possession, later identified as acetaminophen and hydrocodone.

It was discovered that her license had already been revoked and Williams was arrested. During the arrest, Williams screamed and tried to get out of her handcuffs, so she was taken to Yavapai County Jail so she could be restrained.
