Thanks to a South Florida brewery, the best part of waking up can now be the taste of maple, bacon, coffee and beer in your cup. Well, maybe not the beer…

Boca Raton-based Funky Buddha Brewing’s “Maple Bacon Coffee Porter” combines (at least) three of the things that Americans love best to create a bacony brew that has been a hit with beer enthusiasts and casual drinkers alike.

This is how the brewery describes its signature drink:

“Evoking a complete diner-style breakfast in a glass, Maple Bacon Coffee Porter is a complex beer with a multitude of flavors at work. It pours an opaque, ebony brew with a frothy tan head. Aromas of sticky maple syrup and fresh-brewed coffee creep forth from the glass. The mouth feel is luxuriously creamy, with layers of sweet malt and roast giving way to waves of smoke, coffee, and dark salted chocolate. The finish is sticky, rich, and sweet, with flavors of maple syrup lingering pleasantly on the tongue.”

After the first release of the beer -- which led to people trading individual bottles via the Internet -- Funky Buddha has scheduled a seasonal release party for Jan. 11. According to reports, people might be camping out for the specialty drink.

“Maple Bacon Coffee Porter was the first beer that really earned us attention outside of our taproom,” said Funky Buddha head brewer Ryan Sentz. “I remember thinking how crazy it was that this little brew pub in Boca Raton was being noticed nationally, and our success is definitely owed in part to that.”
