Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Apparently even fake cops have a real love for doughnuts.

A Florida man who was pretending to be a police officer in order to receive a discount on doughnuts was arrested at a Dunkin' Donuts drive-through on Tuesday.

Charles T. "Chuck" Barry went to the restaurant in Trinity three different times on Tuesday Nov. 12 after first going there on Nov. 6 and showing a Sheriff Star Badge in order to get a discount. The manager became suspicious during Barry’s subsequent visit on Nov. 7 and took down his license plate number.

A worker refused to give him a discount during one of his Tuesday attempts, at which point Barry held up a gun that was still in its holster and said, "See, I am a cop!"

"The witness said Barry never pointed the firearm at him and never took it out of his holster but did display it to him,'' the Sheriff's Office said.

A deputy followed Barry as he drove away from the business and pulled him over.

"A traffic stop was conducted and while speaking with Barry the deputy observed he had a law enforcement badge in his wallet,'' the Sheriff's Office said. "He was also carrying a .38 caliber revolver in his front pocket."

Barry, 48, was charged with one count of false impersonation of a law-enforcement officer and improper exhibition of a firearm.
