The altercation reportedly involved a threat of some kind, and police spokesman Zach Hudson said authorities are "trying to determine what exactly happened."

No significant injuries were reported, but it is being investigated as "possible domestic battery," Hudson said.

George Zimmerman was a Sanford, Florida neighborhood watch volunteer acquitted of murder after he shot unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin.

Shellie Zimmerman recently pleaded guilty to perjury for misrepresenting their finances during the course of his investigation. Before filing for divorce, she appeared in her first interview to describe harrowing months spent living in a trailer in the woods due to media attention on her husband's case and threats on their lives.
