Lonigan's Bar owner David Callahan got an unexpected patron Wednesday.

Surveillance cameras at the Estes Park, Colo., bar showed a 6-foot, 300-pound customer of the ursine variety.

The bear reportedly finished rummaging through garbage near the bar, and before Callahan saw him, the furry fright was inside the bar. Estes Park resident Daniel Lyell was the first to notice him.

“I guess nothing seemed palpable so he just kept going,” said Estes Park resident Daniel Lyell. “He didn’t think too long before he started walking into the bar.”

“I tried to holler, ‘Bear!’ so people could hear me. They were oblivious. He kept wandering up to the middle bar where all the patrons were,” Lyell said.

The bear, unimpressed, wandered out after a few moments.

“We are in the Rocky Mountains, it’s their territory not ours,” Callahan said.

The bartender would have made the bear at home if he had time to get past the shock.

“My first reaction is to have a heart attack and my second reaction is to give him whatever he wants,” he said. The bar plans to have a shot on the menu in the bear's honor.
