Trapped cat rescued from well in Virginia

Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Firefighters in Virginia came to the rescue of a cat that fell down a well and became trapped in the pump house 10 feet under ground.

The Hanover County Fire-EMS Department said the Engine 406 crew was dispatched Wednesday "for a small animal rescue from a well."

The department said firefighter Hailey Cook was able to reach the cat and bring it back to the ground level.

The cat was turned over to local animal control for assessment.
