Jacksonville Animal Care & Protective Services said on social media that officers were in their morning meeting when they received a call about a dog that "had gotten stuck on the side of the Myrtle Avenue bridge on I-95." Advertisement The rescuers "were able to rescue this terrified dog in an incredibly humane, gentle way, getting her to safety as quickly as possible," the post said. A video shows rescuers using a net to prevent the dog from falling while getting a leash around her neck. They were then able to safely hoist the canine from her perch. It was not clear how the dog came to be stranded on the ledge. The dog, now named Myrtle, "has since gained a huge fan club among staff and volunteers and is getting braver and braver every day," the post said.
