Nov. 7 (UPI) -- A North Carolina man's age turned out to be a lucky number when it inspired him to buy a scratch-off lottery ticket worth $200,000.

Jamar Tillman of High Point told North Carolina Education Lottery officials he was at Green Street Grocery on East Green Drive in High Point when he spotted a familiar number.

"I'm 44 years old and when I saw the scratch-off on No. 44, I decided to buy that one," he said.

The ticket in bay No. 44, a $5 Triple Red 777's ticket, turned out to be a $200,000 top prize winner.

"I about passed out," Tillman recalled of the moment he revealed the prize. "It felt great though."

Tillman said his winnings will likely go toward buying a house.

"This came right on time for me," he said.
