Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Nickelodeon celebrated the second season of its Dora series by gathering 1,800 pinatas at the 78th Annual East Los Angeles Mexican Independence Day Parade.

The children's cable network's contribution to the parade broke a Guinness World Record with 1,800 pinatas in various shapes, colors and sizes.

Diana ZermeƱo, the actress who voices the titular Dora in the series, served as co-grand marshal of the parade.

The second season of Dora, a CG-animated reboot of Nickelodeon's Dora The Explorer premiered Friday on Paramount+, and the first season made its cable debut Monday on Nickelodeon and the Nick Jr. channel.
