Sept. 27 (UPI) -- A Michigan Lottery player said a text from a friend alerted him to the fact that he had scored a $200,000 Club Keno jackpot.

The 45-year-old Oakland County man told Michigan Lottery officials he frequently buys Club Keno tickets at the County Fair Market on Dequindre Road in Warren and a friend recently learned that there was a big winner at the store.

"I got a text from a friend asking if I won big playing Club Keno because he saw a $200,000 prize was won at the store I usually buy my tickets from," the man said. "I'd just bought a Club Keno ticket from that store, so I pulled it out of my pocket and scanned it on the lottery app."

The player discovered he had won $200,000 by matching eight of the 20 Club Keno numbers in draw 2242363 on Sept. 5.

"When the winning amount came up on the screen, all I could think was: 'Wow it really was me!' I'd never won a big prize like this, so it was pretty unbelievable," the winner said.

The winner said he has big plans for the prize money.
