Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Officials in Wichita, Kan., are investigating a mysterious odor reported in various areas of the city, but they said the smell is not believed to be dangerous. Residents of areas including College Hill, Eastborough and Derby reported an odor variously compared to gas, burning rubber, asphalt or a car engine. Advertisement City officials said in a Facebook post that they have received several "what's that smell" inquiries. "We are unaware of what is causing the smell, but it is not currently having an impact on the city's air quality rating," officials wrote.
