Sept. 25 (UPI) -- A total 219 dogs and their owners attended a speak preview of Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie and broke the Guinness World Record for most dogs attending a film screening.

The special outdoor screening was held in Los Angeles' Griffith Park and was attended by Guinness World Records adjudicator Michael Empric, who confirmed the canine head count in the film's "paw-dience."

Empric said the 219 dogs in attendance broke the previous record of 199 dogs, which was set in October 2022.

The record attempt was organized by Paramount Pictures, the studio behind Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie, in partnership with the Los Angeles-based Best Friends Animal Society.

"I hope people reading about this milestone will be inspired to get out and adopt," Brittany Thorn, executive director of the Best Friends Animal Society, said in a news release.
