Bear family drops by Los Angeles pool for a swim

Sept. 19 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles couple captured video when their backyard pool was crashed by some uninvited guests -- a family of bears.

Jon and Karen Von Gunten said the bears came out of Rowley Canyon to their Tujunga neighborhood and apparently decided to beat the heat with a dip in their pool.

The couple shared video of the furry family playing in the water before going back the way they came.

"I'm just glad I wasn't in the pool," Karen Von Gunten can be heard saying in the video.

The Burbank Police Department posted video in late July of a similar incident where a bear was found swimming in a backyard pool. The bear was monitored until it left the area on its own.
