Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A 15-year-old roller skating wunderkind flipped over 12 people and landed safely to break a Guinness World Record.

Guinness World Records announced California teen Mia Peterson landed the title for the most people barani flipped over from a quarter pipe on roller skates (female) when she executed her signature trick at a Laguna Niguel skate park.

Mia said she first strapped on roller skates during a family trip to a roller rink at age 11 and started attempting half pipe tricks at age 13.

She said her first flips were landed into a foam pit.

"I would take baby steps until I could land the flip. It is not easy at first though, I would take some tough falls here and there," she told Guinness World Records.

Mia said her friend Jake convinced her to attempt a flip over him while he was on the ground.

"He seemed to really trust and believe in me, so we tried it. I landed it first try and in two days, I flipped over Jake and 8 other people," she said.

She said her friends encouraged her to pursue the world record once she was regularly flipping over 10 people at once.

"My closest friends at the skate park who watched me since the first day I started skating were the ones who trusted me. I'm grateful they trust and believe in me to flip over them, as well as to put up with all of my other crazy ideas," she said.
