Police rescue dog from Florida canal

Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Police in Florida rescued a dog that fell into a canal and was unable to climb out.

The Marco Island Police Department said its officers and community service officers responded Monday morning when a dog was reported stranded.

"Thankfully, officers were able to make a quick rescue," the department said in a Facebook post.

The post included photos of the dog wrapped in a blanket after being safely returned to dry land.
