Sept. 27 (UPI) -- An Australian man collected a lottery jackpot totaling nearly $150,000 from a ticket he received for free.

The Nambucca Heads, New South Wales, man told The Lott officials he received his Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot ticket as a free bonus ticket at Nambucca Heads Newsagency.

The bonus ticket ended up winning a $145,796 jackpot from the Sept. 24 drawing.

"I can't believe it, especially to win this prize on a free ticket," the winner told officials. "I feel very, very lucky. Things like this are great, aren't they?"

The man said he is still considering what to do with his prize money.

"I would say we will start by helping out the kids," he said. "We will really be able to enjoy it, there's no doubt about that."

Thea Kimber, owner of the Nambucca Heads Newsagency, said the win also marked a big milestone for the store.

"This is biggest winning entry we've sold since owning the newsagency," she said. "We're all very excited and our staff was so happy when the customer came in to check his ticket."
