Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Firefighters in Colorado rescued a dog trapped in the tall reeds of a lake the morning after rescuing three people who unsuccessfully attempted to reach the canine. The Pueblo Fire Department said rescue crews were dispatched to Lake Minnequa on Wednesday evening to rescue three adults who became stuck in the lake while searching for the recently adopted dog that fled from their nearby apartment. Advertisement The people were not injured, and firefighters returned Thursday morning to search for the dog, Buddy, who was located stuck in thick reeds on the opposite side of the lake. Buddy was safely rescued from the reeds and brush in an operation involving multiple crews. The canine was reunited with his family.
