South African charity lines up 90,450 food cans for world record

Aug. 30 (UPI) -- A South African charity broke a Guinness World Record when it collected 90,450 cans of donated food and arranged them into a 4.1-mile line.

Ladles of Love, a charity dedicated to providing nutritious meals across South Africa, spent about two hours Sunday lining up cans of donated food at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

The resulting line stretched 4.1 miles, earning a Guinness World Record for the longest line of food cans.

The previous record, 44,966 cans assembled into a 2.04-mile line, was set in Canada in 2014.
