Virginia man wins $1M lottery prize seven years after $2.5M jackpot

Aug. 27 (UPI) -- A Virginia man who collected a $2.5 million lottery jackpot in 2014 found lightning sometimes strikes twice when he scored a $1 million price from a scratch-off ticket.

Michael Worsham, of Chesapeake, told Virginia Lottery officials he bought an Extreme Millions ticket from the 7-Eleven store on Butts Station Road in Chesapeake and initially misread his prize.

"I thought maybe I'd won a hundred dollars," Worsham recalled. "I looked at it again and said, 'This is a million!'"

Worsham has some experience when it comes to lottery jackpots -- in 2014, he collected a $2.5 million prize from a scratch-off ticket.

Worsham said his winnings will allow him to make some investments and take care of his kids.
