May 20 (UPI) -- A Florida man said his $1 million lottery prize came at the end of a string of bad luck that included his truck breaking down just two days after his wife's car broke down.

Curtis Fuller, 38, of Jacksonville, told Florida Lottery officials he bought his 50X The Cash scratch-off ticket from First Coast Energy in Jacksonville just days after he and his wife both found themselves without working vehicles.

"My wife's car broke down a few days ago and two days after that my truck broke down," Fuller said.

The ticket ended up being a $1 million winner.

Fuller said one of the first things he will do with the money is solve his family's vehicle woes.

"In addition to buying a new house, this money will help us purchase two new vehicles," he said.
