May 18 (UPI) -- A Virginia woman ended up getting lucky twice over when she lost her $250,000 winning lottery ticket and found it in time to claim the prize.

Kimberly Jones, of Waverly, told Virginia Lottery officials she bought the Power Shot ticket from Petersburg Market Place and immediately scratched it off, revealing a $250,000 prize.

"I kind of froze," Jones recalled. "I just walked out of the store and tried to be calm."

Jones' journey toward becoming a jackpot winner hit an extra snag, however, when she brought the ticket home and promptly lost it.

Jones said she scoured her home and eventually discovered the ticket had fallen under her dresser. She found the ticket in time to claim her jackpot.

"It feels wonderful," she said.
