March 9 (UPI) -- A North Carolina man collected a $1 million lottery prize from a scratch-off ticket just seven months after he took home half of a $4 million jackpot.

Willard Weber of Littleton told North Carolina Education Lottery officials he was at Information Grocery in Halifax when the new $30 Millionaire Maker scratch-off ticket caught his eye.

Weber said he scratched the ticket off at home but didn't immediately realize he was a $1 million winner.

"I didn't even know I won," he said. "I missed the number, so I didn't see it when I scratched it off. That's the second time. I didn't see it the first time either."

The first time was in August 2020, when Weber and coworker Dean Glover split a $4 million top prize from a Ruby Red 7s scratch-off ticket.

Weber said he discovered his most recent win when he took a stack of old tickets to the store to scan.

"I was scanning all my old tickets and one of them said I had to take it to lottery headquarters," Weber said.

The player said he still couldn't find the match, so he asked a clerk to take a second look.

"That's when we noticed 23 matched," he said. "I couldn't believe it was the exact same number I hit on last time, either."

Weber said his previous jackpot went toward buying an antique Cadillac El Dorado. He said his latest winnings will go into savings.
