March 8 (UPI) -- A pair of Idaho men broke a Guinness World Record when they passed a giant beach ball back and forth a total 4,169 times.

David Rush, who has broken more than 150 Guinness records to promote STEM education, teamed up with neighbor Seth Lemmons to break the record for most passes of a giant beach ball.

Rush said Guinness set the threshold for the record at 1,300 passes, and the rules required he and Lemmons to stand at least 6.5 feet apart at all times. The men also were not allowed to hold the ball for more than 2 seconds in between passes.

The men managed 4,169 catches before dropping the ball.
