Feb. 2 (UPI) -- A Virginia man said his hankering for an Italian sub sandwich led to his buying the Powerball ticket that earned him a $150,000 prize.

Jodie Harris, of Hampton, told Virginia Lottery officials he stopped at the Wawa store in Hampton for an Italian sub, and while waiting for his sandwich to be made, he used a Virginia Lottery Game Machine there to buy Powerball tickets.

Harris later found out his his hunger was a lucky sign, as he matched four numbers and the Powerball number in the drawing.

The winner collected a $150,000 jackpot. He said he plans to use some of the money to help out relatives, and will save the rest for his retirement.
