Officials at Fond du Lac High School said the snake, Kai, is the pet of a science teacher who has been bringing the reptile to school for years. Advertisement Kai escaped from his cage during Labor Day weekend, just before the first day of school, setting off a weeklong search for the animal. The school said reptile experts were consulted and the local fire department used thermal imaging cameras to scan the building. The school announced the non-venomous snake, which did not pose a threat to students or faculty, was found and returned to the teacher.
