Washington state woman's lottery jackpot comes on 30th wedding anniversary

Sept. 6 (UPI) -- A Washington state woman has some extra reasons to celebrate after winning a $190,000 lottery jackpot on her 30th wedding anniversary.

The Tacoma woman told Washington's Lottery officials she bought her Hit 5 scratch-off ticket from a machine at Fred Meyer in Federal Way that has given her smaller prizes in the past.

"I play at one particular store at one particular machine," she said.

The winner said she uses the app to check scratch-off games for remaining prizes before she picks which one to buy.

"I have the app on my phone which is really helpful. Any time I'm going to buy scratch tickets I use the app," she said.

The woman said the $190,000 jackpot will help her and her husband make their 30th anniversary celebration extra special.

"We were already planning on going out of town, but this will make it all the more pleasant," she said.
