Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A Maryland man said a series of numbers that came to him in a dream proved lucky when they earned him a lottery prize of more than $15,000.

The 25-year-old Middle River man told Maryland Lottery officials the numbers 10, 11 and 12 appeared to him in a dream, so he decided to use them to place a Trifecta box bet in the Racetrax virtual horse racing game.

The 20-draw bet hit big on the 16th race, earning him a $15,616.50 jackpot.

The man said he has had luck with dream numbers in the past.

"Sometimes people bring the numbers to me in dreams and other times I just see the numbers," he said.

The winner said he plans to put his money into savings.
