Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe July 27 (UPI) -- A driver on a New Jersey highway captured video of a loose tire that rolled along the road, bounced over the median, and crashed into a vehicle headed in the opposite direction. The video shows the large tire rolling next to the filmer's vehicle on Route 440 before bouncing onto the concrete median and heading into oncoming traffic, smashing into a Jeep. Advertisement John Rice, the driver of the Jeep, said the tire clipped his wife's vehicle, which was traveling in front of him, before smashing into his. "Out of nowhere a tire jumps across the median from the opposite direction into our side of the roadway," Rice, who was not injured, told WABC-TV. "Didn't notice at the time but it struck the rear of my wife's car and came directly toward the front of my Jeep." New Jersey State Police said the tire appears to have come from a dump truck and they are conducting an investigation to find the vehicle where it originated.
