July 27 (UPI) -- An escaped cow caused chaos in an Irish town when it ran loose through busy streets and knocked at least one witness to the ground.

The cow broke free Thursday morning from a pen at Ennis Mart in County Clare and ran loose through the streets of Ennis while being pursued by multiple vehicles.

A video shows the cow knocking a pedestrian to the ground. The man was treated for minor injuries.

The cow also crashed into a van, damaging the vehicle before it was cornered and recaptured in the parking lot of Dunnes Stores.

The local Health and Safety Authority said it is investigating the incident.
