Woman wins $100,000 lottery jackpot using NASCAR numbers

May 24 (UPI) -- A Virginia woman's favorite NASCAR drivers turned out to be winners at the same time when she used their numbers on a lottery ticket and won a $100,000 jackpot.

Racing fan Christina LaBombard of Ashland told Virginia Lottery officials she selected the numbers of her favorite NASCAR drivers, 3-8-14-20-29, when she purchased her Cash 5 ticket for the May 9 drawing at the Food Lion store in Ashland.

The speedy numbers were selected in the drawing, earning LaBombard a $100,000 prize.

"I was shocked!" the winner said. "I was amazed to see my numbers pop up!"

The woman said she might celebrate the NASCAR drivers who inspired her win by spending the prize money on a new vehicle.
