May 23 (UPI) -- A Montreal fitness enthusiast attending an Illinois event broke a Guinness World Record by holding the plank post for 4 hours and 20 minutes.

Dana Glowacka, a Montreal yoga instructor, was attending the First International Plank Training Conference in Naperville when she broke the previous female planking record of 3 hours, 30 minutes, which was set by Maria Kalimera in 2015.

Glowacka said she started training for the record in 2016 and her first attempt at a plank ended after only 4 minutes.

Chinese man Mao Weidong earned the record for planking in the male category in 2016 when he held the position for 8 hours, 1 minute.
