May 15 (UPI) -- A group of Australian beach visitors assisted a fisherman working to remove a plastic throwing disc from around a shark's neck.

Evan Steer captured video at Rainbow Beach in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, showing the beach-goers helping the fisherman rescue the shark, which was believed to be a nurse shark, from the plastic disc.

Steer said the fisherman caught the shark off Inskip Point and decided to bring it up on the beach to free it from the plastic.

The shark, estimated to be about 4 1/2 feet long, was released back into the ocean.
