May 14 (UPI) -- Police in Illinois said reports of "two furry bull-like species" wandering loose through a road led to the capture of two Scotch Highland cattle.

Lake County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Christopher Covelli said a call came in about 5:30 a.m. Monday for two cows wandering along northbound Route 59 in unincorporated Lake Villa Township. He told the Chicago Tribune a second call reported "two furry bull-like species" in the area.

Deputies Rebecca Loeb and Chris DeWitt were able to guide the bulls through the neighborhood until they were picked up by their owner.

The sheriff's office said the cattle were safely "in 'cowstudy'" and returned to the local farm, where they had escaped through an unlatched gate.
