Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe Feb. 13 (UPI) -- A 1-pound monkey stolen from a Florida zoo has been recovered and returned to the facility in good health, police said. The West Palm Beach Police Department tweeted early Wednesday morning that Kali, a 12-year-old Goeldi's monkey, was back home at the Palm Beach Zoo. Advertisement It was unclear how police located the monkey and whether any arrests were made in the theft. "Kali is doing well considering she has been without her medication for days," Margo McKnight, zoo president and chief executive officer, said in a written statement. "Our animal care team is monitoring her closely, and our goal is to reunite her with Quito, her mate, as soon as we know she's healthy." Zoo officials had said Kali requires daily medication for inflammation issues. Kali had been abducted from her enclosure by someone who cut through the surrounding mesh about 1 a.m. Monday. Zoo officials released grainy security camera footage of the incident. The zoo said Kali was likely valued at about $10,000 on the illegal pet market.
