Dec. 4 (UPI) -- A Maryland woman whose father sent her to the store for a head of cabbage ended up with plenty of green -- $225,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket.

Vanessa Ward told Virginia Lottery officials her father asked her to pick up a head of cabbage, so she stopped by the Giant Food Store in Groveton and decided to buy a Win a Spin scratch-off ticket while she was there.

The ticket earned Ward the top prize: A chance to spin the wheel at Virginia Lottery headquarters and win between $100,000 and $500,000.

Ward's spin earned her a $225,000 prize.

She said she plans to put the money toward her retirement and possibly take a trip to Disney World.
