Nov. 27 (UPI) -- A New York state police department shared body camera footage of an officer rushing into a burning shed to rescue a chicken.

The Ossining Police Department said Officer McGovern responded Saturday to a fire at a shed adjacent to a residential property in the city.

McGovern removed two propane tanks from the shed before rushing back inside to rescue a chicken in danger of becoming roasted.

"I got your chicken," McGovern tells the owner in the video.

"Now, it's not that we don't love chickens," the police department wrote. "They're just fine and certainly deserve our assistance. It's just that, if you ever wanted to get a hard time from your coworkers, be a hero... to a chicken."
