Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Firefighters in Houston said they hoisted a horse from a 6-foot deep septic hole and police ended up arresting the owner.

The Houston Fire Department said the owner was riding the horse about 4:30 p.m. Sunday when it fell into the 6 foot by 6 foot hole.

Firefighters worked for more than an hour and were able to return the horse to the ground level.

The horse's owner became belligerent with firefighters during the rescue and was arrested by Houston police, officials said.

The horse was taken into the custody of animal control and was treated for minor injuries.
