Nov. 12 (UPI) -- A Malaysian courier service is reminding customers not to mail live animals after a python was found in a package addressed to a university student.

Pos Malaysia Berhad said workers at one of its facilities found the live snake inside a package addressed to a student in Penang during the weekend.

The courier service said the package originated from an address in Gopeng, Perak, and was labeled "football boots," officials said.

Pos Malaysia officials said mailing live animals is illegal and could result in charges for the sender.
