Firefighters rescue deer that fell through thin ice

Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Firefighters in Minnesota said they rescued a doe that wandered out onto a frozen lake and fell through the thin ice.

The White Bear Lake Police Department said officers were summoned Sunday to Priebe Lake, where a deer had been reported as being stranded in the freezing waters.

Police arrived and confirmed the doe had fallen through the thin ice.

Firefighters were summoned to the scene to conduct a rescue.

"Ultimately the doe was able to get out and run off," police wrote. "Kudos to the White Bear Lake Fire Department on the save!"
