Oct. 31 (UPI) -- A Texas bar is getting into the Halloween spirit by donning a costume: Moe's Tavern, the iconic bar from The Simpsons.

Austin bar Nickel City underwent a temporary redesign this week to give it the inward and outward appearance of the cartoon bar from the long-running Fox series.

"I grew up in a bar family," bar owner Travis Tober told CNN. "My favorite character is Moe. I always identified with him."

The bar is temporarily selling Simpsons-inspired menu items including pink-frosted doughnuts, Krusty burgers and Flaming Moe cocktails.

Tober said the bar's "costume" was inspired by a conversation with a colleague about how the bar's facade already resembled the exterior look of Moe's.

The bar owner said the building will be back to normal on Thursday, but he is already brainstorming ideas to turn the business into another iconic pop culture bar for next Halloween.
