Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Firefighters in Florida said a man who climbed down a wall on a lark ended up needing to be rescued from the 30-foot hole.

Volusia County Fire Rescue Battalion said crews responded early Wednesday to a location in a wooded area near DeLeon Springs where a man had climbed into a well and gotten stuck.

"The person said he just wanted to go down to say he did it and, unfortunately, he didn't have the strength to get out of it," Volusia County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Scott Smoak told WKMG-TV.

Smoak said the man suffered only minor injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene.

"We are in Halloween and people do crazy things, pranks and all that kind of stuff." Smoak said.
