Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Bee removal experts in Texas were called to a shuttered supermarket to remove a 14-foot hive housing hundreds of thousands of bees.

Specialists with Texas Bee Removal were summoned Tuesday to an abandoned grocery store on Veterans Memorial in Houston.

The experts found the bees had built a massive hive in between the glass and the wood used to board up the windows.

Texas Bee Removal said the hive was removed and the colony will be given a new home.
